2010 NESCCA RoadRally Championship

RALLIES: All road rallies calendared by a NEDiv Region with the SCCA National Office will count towards the NESCCA ROADRALLY CHAMPIONSHIP. This means the Region has submitted the proper calendaring request form and paid the proper fees. There is no limit on the number of events a Region can conduct, nor on the type of road rallies the Region elects to conduct. Each rally shall be governed by the host region’s rally regulations and general instructions.

CONTESTANTS: To be eligible for NESCCA ROADRALLY CHAMPIONSHIP points, the contestant must be a member of the SCCA. A new member may count the two most recent events prior to joining SCCA.

CHAMPIONSHIP SCORING: Championship points will be awarded per the SCCA National Points Schedule [Article 8c] adjusted by a “C Factor” for finishing position in the class competed in that rally. The contestant will count ALL events run. There is no maximum or minimum that can be counted. Ties will be broken by considering the point difference between contestants at rallies they had in common.

CLASSES: The class structure will be as defined by the Region conducting the rally. It is not the intent of these Regulations to dictate any particular class structure. The contestant is free to select whichever class he/she wishes to compete in for each given rally.

Class Car Count: A Class must have at least 2 starters to be considered as a seperate class for NESCCA points. The Region may combine classes as they see fit when they send in the results. If single car class(s) are not combined in the official results, the single entry will be combined (a) with the next higher class or (b) down to the next lower class if it is already the highest class.

"C Factor": An adjustment to the points scored.

C1: All NEDiv, SCCA road rallys sanctioned by SCCA and conducted by a NEDiv Region.
C2: All NEDiv, SCCA road rallys sanctioned by SCCA and conducted by a NEDiv Region that elects to support the NEDiv Road Rally program by paying a $1.00 per entry sanction fee to the NEDiv.

The choice of being a "C2" is the option of the rally organizing committee. Unless the NEDiv DRRS is notified differently, all road rallys will be scored as "C1".

NESCCA ROADRALLY CHAMPION: There will be a SINGLE Driver and Navigator Champion. If you are going to call yourself the best road rally driver or navigator in NEDiv, you must be the best at whatever type of roadrally a NEDiv Region puts on.

CHAMPIONSHIP YEAR: As the awards will be given out at the NEDiv Mini-Convention in November, the Championship year will be from the weekend after to the weekend before.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Divisional Road Rally Steward (DRRS): The DRRS will administer the series, maintain the series points, maintain and provide the schedule to the NESCCA Website and other appropriate media, and arrange for series awards. The DRRS has final authority over the series including interpretation of these rules.

Regions: The Regions have full responsibility for conducting the rallies, obtaining sanctions, publicity, etc. The Region will provide the DRRS with a copy of the Calendaring/Sanction form at the same time it is sent to the SCCA National Office. The Regions will provide to the DRRS the event results consisting of at least Driver/Navigator full name; home town/state; Region of record; class and overall finishing positions for all contestants that started the rally within 10 days of the event. It is not necessary to include leg scores. The Regions will send the required Division assessment [if any] to the NEDiv Council Treasurer within 45 days of the event.

ASSESSMENTS:

The NEDIV sanction fee of $1.00 [C2] per car shall be assessed the host region to help cover the cost of prizes and administration. Make the checks payable to “NEDIV Council” and write “Road Rally” on them. Send the check to the NEDiv Council Treasurer.

PRIZES:

There will be a single NESCCA ROADRALLY CHAMPION award to the top points Driver and Navigator. There may be additional special awards.
